“Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so… get on your way!” (Dr. Seuss)
We welcome you at 7:00 am at Dehradun Railway Station, Uttarakhand for our onward journey
Listen to music, play antakshari, chit-chat with your fellow passengers or find some other alternative to spend 8 to 9 hours on the bus. As it is a long drive to reach Sari village, we will stop at different locations for refreshment and pee break. (It is suggested not to read a book or play games on your mobile phone while hilly drives, as it can cause giddiness). Sari is a small village where you can buy tuck, toothpaste or any other basic item in case you have forgotten to carry anything
We finally get out of the bus at Sari Village and stretch a bit, to begin with, our two-hour hike to Deoriatal. Beginning with the challenge of day 1, we climb an elevation of 440 mts approx, which is a total uphill trek. This trek shall offer you an aeroplane view of villages around, the fragrance of nature and real refreshment post the busy city life, that you took a break from! The hike consists of two relaxation points from where you can take pictures and loosen up your muscles
Water Point: 15 mins away from Sari, en route Deoriatal. This will be the only water point available on this trail. Do remember to fill in your water bottles, unless your buddy is ready to share his/her with you 😉
Well, the plan is to reach the lakeside and set up a campsite here. Your Trip leader will start with a small orientation, and group introduction with the team followed by the basics of being in the wilderness, dos and don’ts of the campsite and will teach you how to fix your own tents; packing, unpacking and getting into a sleeping bag. After this the time will be spent exploring, reading a book, and capturing pictures or just relax a take a dip in nature. The night will be spent under the starry skies.
While waiting for the stars to crowd the sky, engage yourself in conversations with your fellow travellers and enjoy the first meal at our beautiful campsite
Post that, sleep well for you have a lot to look forward to
For first-timers, this trek is a great way to discover the joys of trekking in the Himalayas.
Tungnath Temple is the Highest Temple of Lord Shiva and ironically the easiest one to achieve.
Trek to Tungnath & Chandrashilla Peak Summit (Guided Trek/Hike)
Chandrashilla summit serves as the vantage point that offers panorama 180-degree view of the
greater Himalayas
Hike to Deoriatal Lake. This is an emerald lake perched at a height of 2438m above sea level. The lake is situated amidst a lush green inclined field surrounded by dense forest. Just sitting beside the lake and watching clearly the reflection of mountain massif like Mt. Chaukhamba (6200m) on the lake is a rewarding experience altogether, on a clear sunny day.
After breakfast, we head back to Dehradun
